DENMARK: Example provided by The Danish Psychological Association


An example of a good initiative to counteract violations or threats to Human Rights is a health clinic, established in 2011 by Danish Red Cross, Danish Refugee Council and Danish Medical Association. The clinic provides medical treatment for human beings without permanent residence permit  and is run by private funds.


CROATIA: Examples provided by The Croatian Psychological Association


- 16th Annual Conference of Croatian Psychologists (held in 2008) with the title: Psychology – Media – Ethics as a contribution to co-operation with media and as revealing how people can be harmed with bad media reporting;

- Public action Turn off bad a bad programme and turn on your attitude! implemented by two psychologists (in 2009) against violating of human rights in TV shows;

- Promotional activities in the domain of preventive protection of mental health carried out by a group of psychologists.

 

FINLAND: Example provided by The Finnish Psychological Association

 

The Association provided a scientific statement backing up the gender-neutral marriage law.
