Kerstin Söderström (Norway)

Kerstin Söderström is a child psychologist with a PhD on the topic parental substance abuse and caregiving competence. She shares her working hours between clinical work with children and parents, managing a project to develop early onset and coherent services for infants at risk due to parental mental illness and/or substance abuse, and lastly, a postdoc position at Lillehammer University College. From 2004 she has been a member of the Norwegian Psychological Association´s human rights committee with particular responsibility for children´s rights. Issues of interest are to shed light on human rights and dignity violations in health care settings, exclusion/inclusion and participation, non-discrimination, research ethics, and to fill the CRC-concept of the best interest of the child with psychological knowledge.
