Polli Hagenaars (The Netherlands)

Polli Hagenaars studied developmental psychology at the Free University in Amsterdam. Throughout her professional career diversity and emancipation have been major themes. She has been a trainer in diversity, adviser to the city of The Hague on intercultural education and non-discrimination policy, and lecturer at the Rotterdam College and the Free University College in Amsterdam. From 2006 till 2012 she was the chair of the Section on Interculturalization of the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists (NIP). She is practising as a primary health care psychologist. Her current interests include identity, exclusion, resilience, human rights, social responsibility of psychologists, and ethics in a broader professional context.
